Sustainable development

The need for sustainable development is imperative to address challenges such as the economic crisis, the constant growth of the world population, social inequalities, and environmental degradation. Our department plans projects for the cities and people, which ensure economic development and social cohesion while making the area more environmentally friendly.

Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans

The project implementation process is divided into four (4) stages

During the first stage, the consultant’s tasks include staffing and training the municipality’s project team as well as establishing the stakeholder group that will contribute to the elaboration of Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans. Furthermore, they make sure that a commitment pact on the general principles of sustainable mobility ensues, they define the intervention area, assess the impact of regional/national and local plans and strategies, and delimit the final implementation of the timetable. Finally, they implement learning tools that will help in the self-assessment of the mobility planning of the municipality.

During stage two, the consultant reflects and analyzes the current situation of the transport infrastructure, develops future status scenarios of the mobility system, and includes the planning and implementation of the first phase in conjunction with the stakeholders.

In stage three, the consultant is developing, in cooperation with the municipality, the vision for the development of the urban environment of the city which will lay the foundation for the definition of the objectives and measures of the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans. In addition, mobility is prioritized in accordance with the analysis of the previous phase of the study, and an attempt is made to quantify smart objectives considering trends at the national and European levels. Finally, the second consultation phase is planned and implemented.

Stage four includes the development and identification of urban mobility measures, preparation of the action plan for the implementation of the proposed measures, and their indicative cost. Finally, the third phase of the consultation is planned and implemented.

Electricity development action plans and locations of charging stations

The project aims to provide advice on the sustainable development of the network of electric power infrastructure and its functionality and to inform, educate and familiarize its citizens with the concept.

Planning is achieved by recording, analyzing, and evaluating the existing situation of the municipality in terms of socio-economic and development characteristics, urban and spatial organization, and transport systems. It is also important to conduct and evaluate through dialog with parties of interest. The result of the study is the smooth combination of correlation of the trend of population development and the phenomenon of urban diffusion and development of the municipality – based also on the institutionalized spatial planning studies that govern it – with the field of sustainable urban mobility, namely electrification. Additionally, an economic and technical feasibility study will be drawn up for the replacement of municipal vehicles

With the completion of the above study, it will be possible to secure significant financial resources and future integration of this network into appropriate co-financed operational programs under the current and upcoming periods.

Open trade center designs

Open trade centers include an integrated intervention of local and economic development of the commercial community of the area, by having the development planning of the municipality as the main goal. The strategic objectives of the actions are:

  • Design and development of action strategies for land exploitation for the construction and overall development of the study area focusing on smart sustainable mobility and smart city applications
  • Support and promotion of the center of the city as a site of economic importance to attract new business, investors, consumers, and visitors
  • Cooperation with the local community to enhance skills, involvement, and economic opportunities for all residents of the region
  • Shaping the image of the city center as a place of commercial culture, history, green space, innovation, and modern technologies for employees and visitors
